Upon discovery of what appears to be an ordinary chest box, family heirlooms are brought to life through audible stories from an array of relatives.

As part of my thesis under NYU’s Interactive Media Arts (IMA) Masters Program, I questioned what life would be like in the future as media technology transforms much of the world to be hypervirtualized. I was particularly curious about what would be preserved for people to become familiar with life & culture in the past. In response to this inquiry, I designed an interactive curiosity chest that contains family heirlooms and first person oral narratives from different family members.
